WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION AWARD FOR 2014 TO BE CONFERRED AT EUROPEAN COUNCIL ON TOURISM AND TRADE ANNUAL CONFERENCE

According to a Press Release issued by the European Council on Tourism and Trade President Office it was decided that the European Tourism General Assembly will convene on 2 and 3 May 2014 in the Palace of Parliament of Romania.

European Council on Tourism and Trade 2013 General Assembly was also hosted in Bucharest Palace of Parliament


More than 200 representatives of major regional branches of European Council on Tourism and Trade, major tourism and trade firms and tourism specialized journalist`s will convene in Bucharest, in the landmark Palace of Parliament of Romania, the second largest building in the world and the first in Europe, a landmark of European tourism and architectural treasures.

It was considered as befitting that, the most important European tourism gathering to be held in the venues of the greatest building in Europe.

 

Palace of Parliament will host  2014 European Council on Tourism and Trade general assembly vote for WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION IN 2014. 

 

On the luxurious surrounding of Palace of Parliament, the body will have to decide upon the WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION for 2014 with 27 countries on the list, from all the continents, regions and climate`s off the world.

 

It is the biggest number of competitors in the history of the prize and this fact alone is speaking about the importance of the prize, the relevance of the competition and of the prestige that is encompassed in the European highest tourist award, stated Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, ECTT President.

 

We have countries representing the historical patrimony and the rich cultures of Asia, to the pristine nature of Africa and the traditions and historical patrimony of the black continent and concluding with the impressive tourism potential of South and Central America, declared Academician Mircea Constantinescu.

 

Other topics will be: the selection of the best city for tourism-World Capital of Culture and Tourism, analyzing the future of European tourism, electing new countries in the ECTT and electing new members in the European Tourism Academy etc.

 

In concluding the works of European Council on Tourism and Trade the main delegates will be invited for a discovery trip to Danube Delta.

 

Danube Delta it is an unique touristic and natural reservation, an area without similarity in European Union and the world, a wild life and natural sanctuary and the visit of all European delegates to the area will be not only a promotion trip, but also a discovery of a natural protected area that every European must at least once in their life to come and visit, stated ECTT President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea.

18 MARCH 2014-THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WORLD PROTECTED AREAS AND NATIONAL PARKS

The day of 18 March is to be marking every year the importance of world protected areas and natural parks in the conservation of bio-diversity, in promoting environmental protection and awareness and avoiding economic exploitation and depletion of this areas.

On March 18, 2014 the world celebrated, for the first time, the International Day of World Protected Areas and Natural Parks.

The 18 March was selected as a day marking the arrival of spring, re-born of nature and according to the decision from 18 March 2013 of European Council on Tourism and Trade each year on 18 March, the world will celebrate world protected areas and natural parks and will raise awareness of the importance of every country establishing such areas and register them in a word data base and to control the economic activities in this areas and also support and promote tourism in this areas as a powerful economic promotion tool.

 

According to European Council on Tourism and Trade President, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea: 18 March is a day of action, for the establishment and protection of world natural areas, for the promotion of bio-diversity, as a powerful promotion tool for tourism activities.

 

According to the executive order, from 18 march 2013, all the tourism prizes and recognition offered by European Council on Tourism and Trade will have to incorporate the respect for world protected areas and natural parks.

 

Academician Mircea Constantinescu outlines LAO PDR-WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION FOR 2013 achievments in environmental protection.

 

Already, Lao PDR, the receiver of WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION AWARD for 2013, had strongly tackled the issue of natural areas protection and the title was regarded as an encouragement for tighter sanctions and actions on the field of world natural protected areas.

 

The 2014 recipient of WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION will also have to endeavor to promote bio-diversity protection or to support the establishment of natural protected areas and parks, as a tool for protecting nature and supporting sustainable development stated Professor Dr. Anton Caragea.

 

The event held on 18 March 2014, had united under the title of International Day of World Protected Areas and National Parks more than 23 ambassadors and diplomatic envoys to the headquarter of European Council on Tourism and Trade.

 

The event contained a speech by Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, ECTT President reflecting the importance of world protected areas and natural parks, the screening of a movie regarding Lao PDR- WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION FOR 2013 achievements on the field of natural conservation.

 

Other allocutions where held by Academician Mircea Constantinescu, European MP`s: Steliana Miron, Ionita Dan, Marcel Bujor etc. and by presentations of the environmental situation in their country held by the ambassadors of Malaysia, India, Pakistan and Algeria etc.

The first world celebration of International Day of World Protected Areas and National Parks, inspired by Professor Dr. Anton Caragea-Goodwill Ambassador for World Protected Areas and National Parks was unanimously considered by the parties present as a successful event that will channel the world attention to the issue of establishing and protecting natural areas and parks for the benefit of future generation and as an intricate part in sustainable development and in tourism development.
